There’s no place like home…
I feel like Dorothy, tapping her ruby red slippers together. I love home. Being away for a few days of R and R with my dear husband is a luxury, yes, but coming home is like exhaling after the trip.
We tiptoed in late, late, last night (actually earrrly this morning, come to think of it) and I’ve spent the day hugging my boys, unpacking, organizing, working in the kitchen, doing laundry, homeschooling, hugging my boys, opening the mail, checking all the messages, hugging my boys :) and tonight we grabbed a meal out, after searching the web for the most economical and nutritional spot we could find, close by. (always a challenge!)
My husband says my favorite meal is a bite off everyone’s plate - ha - but this time everyone wanted a bite of mine - which, in turn, easily entitled me to a bite of theirs, without asking! We enjoyed warm, lively and humorous conversation - no tension, no bad moods, no bickering, which can certainly occur when we humans eat or play or just ‘be’. What a pleasure. I felt like a QUEEN. My youngest just now wrapped me in a big hug and suggested we snuggle for a bit. So…off I go, to put on my jammies and hop on our big bed to do just that.
NIGHT NIGHT.

I agree, there is no place like home! To be with my amazing and selfless wife and three incredible children who I fall in love with again and again….then there is our new puppy Dixie, an Australian shepherd, who is curious, cute, and likes to chew everything up! reminds me of my children at about 10-12 months!
g’night
I remember driving a truck over the road for awhile, and the terrible longing I had for my wife and children. I still have the voice mails from them saved in my phone, and am getting ready to record them permanently on tape and then CD. I guess there is something good about technology after all!
We too are homeschooling our children and it makes me breath a sigh of reliiiiieeeeeeffffff when thinking about countries like Germany who have outlawed it. I pray that the Lord will enable us to make it all the way through before something like this occurs here.
There is really no place like home. My 6yr old girl rebecca has just asked me to come and put her into bed and pray and read with her.

Oh man, that is so true, when I was on the road over 100k miles a year, I did enjoy every bit of it, but coming home was still the best part of traveling. However just quick thought, home is not just place with a roof, but a place of peace and comfort, so if you don’t have that…than…well, it’s like in one joke about employment ad: “Looking for work, preferably with travel, far and for a long time is best” : )
Let’s make sure that our house is a home!
