I had a marvelous time in Buffalo, New York at the 20th annual HSLDA leadership conference last week – (I’ll update you on a few highlights soon) – and on my ministry trip (approximately 90 minutes away by car) to Brantford, Ontario, Canada over the weekend.  All my return flights were early-miracle!- with the final one touching down safely in my home town of Sacramento, California.  I deplaned  with glee – I’m grateful to be back in the daily grind, unpacking all my useful stuff, sorting my laundry and stealing hugs from my boys while I’m busy doing all the ‘mom’ stuff that doesn’t get done while I’m away.  Weeding out the junk mail, peeling almost-black bananas to freeze for smoothies, tossing out furry-green bread , cleaning out the fridge…
