I was just on the phone with my son, chatting about the future.  He called me to wish me a happy birthday – yes, today’s the day! And yes, it was a VERY happy birthday! (more on that later)  He’s pondering some pretty big decisions and of course, wanting to make the right choices and wondering how to proceed.  I assured him that as he seeks the Lord, it will become clear. (You know us moms, always dishing out good advice.  Grin.)  As a young girl, a few months before marrying my man (above photo) I couldn’t see my future very clearly either, beyond the 2 major decisions I’d already made – to commit my life to Jesus Christ and to marry my dream guy, Gregory.

Now almost 29 years later, the picture here illustrates the unfolding of God’s amazing plan over time.  Five sons who live in my heart and make me sing (and have kept me on my knees, lo, these 25 years!) and our precious girls He added to our family along the way, who cause my heart to leap for joy unspeakable!  OMG who would have known?  Who could have seen? God in His goodness led us, day-by-day as we sought Him, into the circumstances of our present reality.  This is so incredibly exciting, that the God of the universe cares to partner with us in order to reveal the ‘mystery of His will’, according to Ephesians chapter 1.  

• “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ…”  

What treasure awaits our ‘excavation’…what secrets and solutions, resources and rewards will emerge as a result of seeking Him, finding Him, digging into His timeless Word, listening for His voice, waiting patiently through His process  in order to allow time to meet with destiny where the sweetest blessing unfolds – HIS PLAN FOR US!  What a privilege to see the mystery of His will become clear to our eyes! The Sovereign God pulling back the curtain for us, His favored children.  We’re never in the dark…we’re never without the answer…we’re never without hope…we’re never against the wall…we’re never in despair…FOR LONG… because we are promised that sooner or later, the mystery of His will, will be revealed.  This fact, proven to me over time, compels me, persuades me and provokes me to find Him again and again and again!  Friends, allow this revelation to sink into your hearts…God has so much for you!
