I’ll bet you’ve been to at least ONE Christmas program this month! (am I right?) My fifth-born was very involved in his school-related presentation last week and I giggled through the whole thing (as I balanced the video camera as steadily as possible to capture his brilliant moments and 25 minutes of fame!)
By the way, the new FLIP video camera is amazing. It’s a tiny little thing (can fit in your hand or attach to a tripod) that has 2 hours of memory, downloads right to your home computer, can easily be shared by email or posted to the web in moments and uses AA batteries if the rechargeable FLIP battery runs out. You can even turn the video into single photos right on your computer. The sound and picture are amazing and it even has a little zoom feature. Oh, you can also plug it into your TV and watch what you taped on the big screen. It’s extremely affordable – ($150.00ish) at Costco and cheaper if they’re running a coupon special, or a bit more at electronic superstores like Best Buy. There are other brands besides FLIP, that just happens to be the one I bought and I’m loving it. (Google it for more info…)

Anyhoo…back to the Big Night. The skits, complete with missed lines and assorted gaffes along with some off-pitch singing are what make a kid’s Christmas program what it is. In actual fact though, I have to say, this choir pulled off a couple of really beautiful songs that night. I found myself closing my eyes and seriously finding the sweetness of God’s presence…
A holiday treat, indeed.
