The Heart of Life is Good

Yes, I wake each morning believing!

Yes, I play the 'glad-game' several times a day. (see January 7th blog)

Yes, I'm working on 're-framing' every situation I possibly can to see the silver lining, to peruse the possibilities outside the box of normal.

But that doesn't mean everything always goes the way I wish it went. Life presents constant challenges; lots of hours, days, weeks, even years spent waiting and longing for the dreams God has put in my heart, and there are, alas, deep disappointments.

Thus, there is pain. Sigh.

We know it, we hate it, we resist it, we dance around it, we try to fix it, but pain is there. Sometimes jagged, sharp, penetrating. Sometimes long, lingering, brooding. Whatever form it comes in, and however long it lasts, we all experience it. We always will this side of eternity.

Life is daunting at times. We can feel so small against the vast backdrop of the infinite universe.

And yet we soldier on, for the joy set before us. For the promise of a brighter day. For the hope of another perfect moment shining its blinding light over all of our yesterdays. Because truly, we know in our knower that the heart of life is good and that's why we all long for another day to try again. A new beginning, a fresh hope. Reminds me of a poignant song from a fav artist of mine...

Pain throws your heart to the ground

Love turns the whole thing around

No, it won't all go the way it should

But I know the heart of life is good*Press on.
